It’s a new kind of school year, but it’s all good!

Things certainly are different, but we have adapted. We hope you are excited about the new school year, despite the complications. If you are wondering these are some of the steps that we are taking to address any concerns you may have about COVID-19 and returning to school.

  1. Staggered arrival and dismissal times. You may drop your child off any time between 8:30am and 8:45am. Pick up for three day classes will be between 11:55am and 12:05pm and two day classes between 10:55am and 11:05am. Extended day pick up is 2pm.
  2. Social distancing at drop off and pick up. Per the Department of Early Childhood and Care parents can not enter the school with their children. There are footprints on the ramp outside of the red door to help distance in line and children will be dropped off and picked up one at a time.
  3. Mask wearing. Teachers and students will be wearing masks when social distancing is impossible, particularly at drop off and pick up, play time and on the playground.
  4. Increased hand washing and hand sanitizing. Stepping Stones is known for not sharing germs by maintaining a clean classroom and clean hands. This year we will ramp that up with more scheduled opportunities for washing per EEC guidelines.
  5. Social distancing in the classroom. Hula hoops will be used to help students remain in their own space during circle time and other whole group opportunities. During snack, lunch, and table activities students will be seated where appropriate.
  6. Other PPE in place. Plastic dividers on the activity tables will be an extra defense to keep germs from traveling across tables. Sanitation procedures like the Force of Nature product, Medify medical grade air filter, and bleach solution for playground are new and will be used per EEC guidelines. Extra masks, gloves, disinfectant wipes, are all within reach of a teacher.
